Kamel mælk
I Dubai er det meget populært at drikke kamel mælk. Jeg har smagt det og det var ikke lige noget for mig. Men her er lidt info til dem som har lyst til at vide mere om kamel mælk:-)
Now, here’s some information from camel milk studies:
- Camel milk, as compared to human milk, contains more fat, protein (especially casein), ash, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, iron and copper, and less whey protein, lactose and zinc. According to some studies.
- Vitamins C and niacin are higher in camel milk than human milk according to some studies, however there is no Vitamin C detectable after its frozen and defrosted for testing in our US labs.
- Camel milk proteins contain a satisfactory balance of essential amino acids, with appreciable essential fatty acids.
- Antimicrobial agents are found in camel milk’s lysozome and lactoferrin, which may offer antiviral activity against diarrhea-causing viruses.
- Camel milk is easily digested by lactose-intolerant individuals.
- Small-sized disease-fighting immunoglobulins are found in camel milk. They may penetrate disease antigens and boost the effectiveness of the immune system.
- One study showed that a daily pint of fresh camel milk, which contains approximately 52 micro units per ml of insulin, helped reduce insulin dependence and maintain glycemic control in Type 1 diabetics.
- The casein in camel milk is different from that in cows. Children with severe cow and other animal milk allergies can drink camel milk
- Children with food allergies are reported to have benefitted from camel milk consumption.
- Children with autism are reported to have shown a reduction in autism symptoms and improved motor skills, language, cognition, joint attention and skin health. Children with autism spectrum disorder who have allergies/food intolerances and gut issues were most likely to show a response. Significant changes were found in children’s plasma levels.
- Camel milk has been investigated for use in Tuberculosis and Hepatitis B and C.
- Camel milk has been shown to help protect against aluminum toxicity in rats.
- Camel milk has been reported to help heal stomach ulcers.
